Simple Starter Tips

Start With the Seeds: To grow good seed, you must plant good seed, look for heirloom varieties.

Basic Biology: Insects and wind can cross-pollinate your plants. Isolate or keep distance between plants you want to collect seeds from.

Watch Your Plants: Observation is important. Seeds ripen in mature plants, timing will vary depending on plant type. Always collect seed from healthy plants.

Storage: Separate collected seeds from all plant material. Let dry completely, then store in a cool, dark, dry place over winter. Remember to label your seeds correctly.

Repeat: Come spring, you will have your own seed collection. Plant and share them. When they are ready, save more seeds and keep growing!
