Join us in learning how to sow the seeds of community empowered food systems on campus and beyond. Jill is a skilled grower, avid seed saver and educator. As part of Dis Orientation week she will be leading us in a seed saving workshop where we will learn about the basics of seed saving, why it is important and how to get started; hear about inspiring community seed projects such as Seedy Sunday, the Peterborough seed library and the urban seed saving garden; and find out what the Trent Vegetable Gardens, Trent Community garden and the Seasoned Spoon Café are doing right here on campus to build food self-sufficiency and the various ways you can get involved. There will be an opportunity to explore the rooftop garden during this workshop as well as TVG saved seeds available to take home with you.
